Presets are saved versions of a template's form — ready-made starting points your team can pick from when they add the template to a course. Instead of filling in every field from scratch each time, an author chooses a preset that's already set up the way you want.
Every template has a template form that defines what's editable. A preset captures a specific set of values for that form and saves it under a name. When someone uses your template in Rise, they can start from any preset you've created rather than a blank form.
Presets are a great way to ship common variations of the same interactive — for example, a "3-option quiz" and a "5-option quiz" built from one template.
Every template starts with a Default preset. It's a live view of the content already in your interactive's code, and it's driven by your build — use your AI tool to change what the default shows.

Presets are starting points, not locked content. Authors can still adjust any field after picking a preset — a preset just saves them from starting at zero.
