Interactive templates are reusable interactions you design once and use across courses. Build the template in Studio, define what's editable via a template form, and then author unique instances for each course — without touching code again.

Where to start

You can create a new interactive template from two places:

Either path takes you to the same create page in Studio.

Starting from scratch

When you land on the create page, you'll see a prompt card with instructions for your AI tool. This is the starting point for building your interactive.

Step 1: Connect your AI tool

To build with AI, you'll need to connect Studio to a tool like Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor. This is a one-time setup.

Click How to connect your AI tool on the create page to see step-by-step instructions for your tool.

Step 2: Copy the prompt

Click Copy prompt to grab the starter prompt, then paste it into your connected AI tool. The prompt includes everything the AI needs to check out your interactive and start building.

From there, you and the AI go back and forth — describe what you want, answer its questions, and watch it push updates directly into the Studio editor.

Step 3: Design the template form

The template form is what makes your interactive reusable. It defines the fields that can be customized each time you use the template — things like titles, images, questions, or color options.
